Software development company Treeline Interactive, today announced the release of the first Apple TV app catering to ski resort enthusiasts.

Online PR News – 11-December-2015 – SAN DIEGO, CA – Software development company Treeline Interactive, today announced the release of the first Apple TV app catering to ski resort enthusiasts. TrailTap for Apple TV is a companion app to the popular mobile app of the same name, available for iOS and Android devices. Whereas the TrailTap mobile app is a white label solution for resorts to engage with guests on their phones, the new TrailTap for Apple TV creates an all new experience for skiers and snowboarders to engage with resorts via their TV. The new Apple TV app is available now for free on the App Store.

On Apple TV, TrailTap users can flip through over 470 ski resorts in the US. Each resort has its own page that includes current conditions (provided by snocountry.com), resort info, and tons of photos. Designed with the large format TV screen in mind, the app takes advantage of the space to showcase hi-resolution photos. People who have tried the new app say the experience is like taking a virtual trip to hundreds of resorts.

"We are excited about the possibilities with Apple TV. Mobile apps caused a lot of disruption in digital media and created a lot of opportunities for brands," said Jake Fields, CEO, Treeline Interactive. "With Apple TV, the fact that it's on a large TV screen, often in a room with several viewers, makes content much more of a shared social experience. We expect to see a lot of innovations as brands embrace the opportunity to have what is essentially their own TV channel."

This release of TrailTap is the first version of the app for Apple TV. Treeline plans to release additional feature in future updates and expand the app to include international resorts. The potential benefits of the Apple TV platform for destination companies like ski resorts is to provide an engaging experience for guests even when remote. This continued engagement has proven to increase resort visits through branded mobile apps. The immersive experience of Apple TV has the potential to be even more effectual for enticing guests back to the slopes.
