Online PR News – 09-November-2010 – – Jonathan Duhamel is now the World Series of Poker 2010 Main Event Champion ($8,944,301). He is the first Canadian to win the WSOP and now ranks 15th on poker's “All Time Money List” with a total of $9,045,870 in live tournament winnings.

The first big WSOP 2010 Main Event showdown was when Soi Nguyen gave all of his 7.6 million stack in with an ace-king while Jason Senti rode along with queens in a classic race. No jack on the turn or river sent Nguyen at ninth ($811,823).

Matt Jarvis was sent to the rail when he raced his pocket nines against Mizrachi who had an ace-queen. Though a nine came down on the turn, a cruel ace fell on the river busting Jarvis in eighth ($1,045,738). Seventh placer Jason Senti ($1,356,708), on the other hand, went all in with an ace-king against Joseph Cheong's pocket tens and flopped trip kings. Luck was not on Senti's side when a nine fell on the river and sent him home.

When John Dolan shoved with a queen-five, opponent Jonathan Duhamel called with pocket fours. The board bricked and Dolan had to bid goodbye at sixth ($1,772,939). Duhamel then vaulted into the lead when Michael Mizrachi went all in with top pair queens against Duhamel's pocket aces. The jack on the turn and king on the river busted the Grinder at fifth ($2,332,90).

Right after Mizrachi's exit, Italian Filippo Candio was cut at fourth ($3,092,497) after missing the turn, shoving a king-queen and getting looked up by Cheong's ace-three. But Cheong did not last too long with his 4 million in chips ending up with a three-seven battle versus Duhamel's king-nine. He still got the chance to double up and kept shoving until Duhamel called with an ace-deuce that stumped his queen-ten. Cheong went away third ($4,129,979).

Racener failed to overcome a big 6 to 1 chip disadvantage versus Duhamel and walked away with $5,545,955. The final hand of WSOP 2010 happened when Duhamel went all-in preflop with an ace-jack to Racener's king-eight. Duhamel was crowned Champion when the board gave out a harmless four-four-nine-six-five. Racener now has around $7 million in live tournament winnings placing him into the top 30 of poker's “All Time Money List.”

Amidst all the cheering and jubilation, Duhamel said on his historical victory, “It's a dream come true right now. It's like the most beautiful day of my life!”
