An elite 15 exhibitors, selected from amongst 535, were chosen by a panel of industry media judges to Pitch the Press. These exhibitors then presented their new product or service to the assembled editors, buyers, caterers and restaurateurs.
CateringStone’s revolutionary, 100% food-safe system for keeping food hot or cold for hours without ice, electricity or open flame easily captivated the judges. The reusable, sustainable and green product ultimately earned CateringStone the top spot for 2017. Industry judges included Michael Scinto from Total Food Service, Jeffrey Dryfoos formerly with Dessert Professional, Barbara Castaglia from Restaurant Management, and Dave Turner from Tabletop Journal.
In addition to the Pitch to the Press competition, the 24th Annual IRFSNY show included awards presentations, education sessions, cooking demonstrations, celebrity chefs, and tastings. Chefs, industry leaders, owners and operators networked and conducted business with 535 exhibiting companies during the three-day trade show and conference. The event was recently named one of the top food and restaurant events among the Top 100 events in New York by BizBash Magazine and is sponsored by the NYS Restaurant Association (NYSRA).
